The aim of palliative care is to achieve the best quality of life and to make the life remaining comfortable and meaningful as possible.

The Palliative Care workshops are an opportunity to discuss informally and feel informed about palliative care. The sessions are provided by the palliative care specialist nurses and the carers centre staff.

The topics covered in the four sessions are:

Planning for the future, what does palliative care mean? What is anticipatory care? Symptom management, understanding Liverpool Care Pathway, end of life and loss, what support is available to support the person being cared for and the families.

Carers are supported throughout the sessions and there is an opportunity to discuss things further with the staff.

Workshops are carried out in Dumbarton and Clydebank area.

If you want more information about the sessions or to book a place on the workshops, please contact the carers centre.
